He enjoys caravanning, cycling and walking mainly in the Scottish Hills – he loves bagging Munros (129 to date), playing piano, guitar and singing.

Social interests include golf at Royal Lytham GC, good food, great wine and holidays abroad – often with golf included !

Reception
Christine R, Angela, Deirdre, Susan, Christine H, Pat, Victoria, Julie L, Debbie & Lisa – are the first point of contact to provide a caring and responsive service. They are all highly trained in patient navigation and are on hand to help direct you to the most appropriate person for your care.
Admin
Carly, Sophie, Kathryn & Nathalie
The Admin/Coding team work behind the scenes. All incoming post is read and dealt with by the Team, who then ensure that it is scanned on to patient records in a timely fashion. Once on record, the Coders update the patient records to reflect what is stated in the letter, ensuring that all information is correct. They then make sure that any changes to medication, reviews or follow ups are conducted by the clinician
Secretaries
Karen who is also our Patient liaison manager and the secretarial team (Lou & Susan) provide a full administrative service for both patients and practice staff, dealing with all outbound referrals, reports, record access requests and liaise with the local care home team.

Karen is married with 2 grown up children and has an interest in Theatre and the arts. She can often be found walking her two Springer Spaniels.

Amy has worked at the surgery for over 16 years, she started at the surgery as a receptionist and has progressed over the years. She is an enthusiastic, hardworking member of the team who is always looking at new ways of working, to improve the day to day running of the practice.

Our Medicines Team & Attached Staff
Clinical Pharmacist
We are happy to announce that we have our own clinical pharmacist who can help you with medication problems, changing meds, checking you are on the right meds etc.
Any prescription enquiries should now be put through to our Medicines Management Team. This team is led by Sarah Morley our clinical pharmacist, she is joined by Lauren Ashton, clinical pharmacist, Paula Ward our pharmacy technician and Katy Whitehead who operates the prescription line. They are here to look after your prescription/medicine requirements.

Health visitor
The health visitors can be contacted on 0300 247 0040 (option 2) for any advice and support your require for your child.
District Nurses
The district nurses are responsible for providing nursing services in the community and run dressing clinics on certain days. Please contact the district nursing team on 01253 951533.
Community Midwife
The midwife looks after the health of all our pregnant patients and runs the antenatal clinic. They can be contacted on 01253 951545.
Care Home Team
Kath Gammage is our care home lead nurse who helps the doctors deal with all our patients that reside in local nursing homes.
Network Staff
The network known as Wyre Intergrated Network – WIN, made up of 4 local surgeries (Lockwood Surgery, Beechwood Surgery, Queensway Medical Centre and The Village Practice) now employs staff that work across all 4 practices, enabling us all to offer more appointments and services to our patients. Paramedics
We have 2 paramedics, Holli and Karen they both do face to face appointments for acute illnesses and also assist with home visits.
First Contact Practitioner
Stephen works as a first contact practitioner (physio) at the surgery. He specialises in MSK.
Social Prescribing
Social prescribing helps patients improve their health, well-being and and social welfare by connecting them to existing community services/groups and helping to form new ones. They address patients needs in a holistic way and focus on “what matters to you?” They can accept referrals for patients with long term health conditions, mild to moderate mental health issues, patients who are vulnerable and those with complex social issues. You can self refer by calling the practice and selecting option 5.
Pharmacy
We also have a pharmacy team, made up of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians, they help the surgeries deal with their patients medication queries and drug monitoring.
GP Assistant
Works alongside the HCAs / Nurses – long term illness reviews, blood tests and health checks – as well as new patient registration health checks. Visits the housebound patients to carry out their reviews
